Welcome to the Riverside Quay Place Renewal online engagement hub.

The City of Melbourne and Mirvac are working in partnership to renew the Riverside Quay area. Over the coming months we will be talking with the people who live, work and visit the Riverside Quay area to find out more about their values and what is important to them in the area's renewal.

We will have a series of community activities and events throughout the community engagement period.

    It was all systems go at Riverside Quay last week! Melbournians and visitors alike were coaxed out to test the temporary installations in the beautiful spring weather, creating a real buzz in Southbank.

    Did you pop down last Thursday, Friday or Saturday to check out the ideas? If you came down but didn’t speak to the project team, make sure we hear your thoughts!

    The project team has been hard at work transforming the ideas we have generated from the engagement process into prototypes to test, and now we want to hear from you!

    The temporary installations are in the Riverside Quay area from 9am this Thursday 24 September to 5pm Saturday 26 September.

    We will be in the area to chat with you and hear your feedback at the following times:

    Friday 25 September: 8 -10am, 12 -2pm and 5 -7pm

    Saturday 26 September: 10 – 12pm

    People who live, work and visit the Riverside Quay area have had an opportunity to provide their feedback on a draft Place Vision for Riverside Quay through two public drop-in sessions held in the Riverside Quay area. The draft Place Vision was informed by community engagement activities that have taken place over the last four months.

  • A new vision for Riverside Quay Area

    The community workshop has fed directly into the development of a Place Vision prepared by McGregor Coxall.

    A summary of the Place Vision was presented to members of the newly formed Community Reference Group at their first meeting, held Wednesday 15 July, at Mirvac’s premises at Riverside Quay.

    The Community Reference Group gave their general support for the vision, and for its exhibition at two public drop-in sessions being held to seek community feedback.

    On Wednesday 17 June, we held a Community Place Vision Workshop at the Malthouse Theatre, Southbank. Twenty residents and workers of the Riverside Quay area braved wintery conditions to attend and participate in the workshop activities.

    Community members contributed through group activities. Community members and the project team engaged in passionate and robust discussions that enabled all to hear and appreciate different perspectives. These discussions provided valuable local insights and feedback for the project team.
